_____________

Since April 2026, the MSF Academy for Healthcare has been running the Maternity Clinical Care learning programme in Diffa.

The programme includes 26 learners: midwives, gynaecologists and maternity nurses. While bringing different professions together in an interdisciplinary training, the programme is adapted to each role’s needs and daily activities. The aim is to harmonise practices and improve the overall quality of maternity care in the service.

The programme implementation will run from April 2026 to June 2027. It is adapted to the local context and organised in close coordination with the hospital management. It has been presented to the local health authorities.

Simulation activities are a key part of the learning. They help learners practise clinical skills and prepare for real-life situations.

In July 2026, the Maternity Clinical Care learning programme will also be implemented in Téra, Niger, with 17 learners.
