Burkina Faso

_____________

In Burkina Faso, the MSF Academy launched the Midwifery Clinical Care training programme in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The learning activities started in April 2024, with 60 enrolled midwives, most of whom are staff working for the Ministry of Health. This group also includes 12 MSF staff from other countries in Sahel who are currently on detachment in Bobo-Dioulasso for the duration of the training.

The programme is implemented in the newly constructed maternity ward at the hospital supported by MSF. This is the first implementation of the Midwifery Clinical Care training programme in French.

The MSF Academy is collaborating with other learning initiatives that are present in Bobo, especially with the MSF Field Simulation project for the implementation of training activities that incorporate simulations, in order to combine the programmes and give the best learning experience to our learners.

We are as well in contact with the other training initiatives present in this project, such as MSF’s Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Zero Separation, to ensure the best possible coherence between the different staff capacity-building programmes.
